The Plough Inn at Wigglesworth
This charming, country inn dating from the 1720 offers comfortable, cottage style, en suite bedrooms, many with original oak beamed roofs. The delightful Conservatory Restaurant offers spectacular views of the hills, limestone scars and stone walls for which the Yorkshire Dales are renowned. On a clear day, Pen-y-Ghent and Ingleborough of the Three Peaks can be seen from your table. The restaurant specialises in great tasting dishes that use produce from the fields of local farmers. A wide range of cuisine is offered, from traditional bar meals, gluten-free and vegetarian options to a gourmet sausage menu. Brief accommodation description
Originally a farmhouse, the building became an inn when the farmers wife began brewing and selling ale in 1760. A list of landlords dating back to this time is displayed in the bar. The cosy shoehorn bar features oak beams, a unique collection of shoehorns, horse brasses and pictures and articles relating to the history of the inn.
