The Clifton Hotel

Brief accommodation description
With inspirational views across the North Sea and Scarboroughs magnificent castle headland, its easy to see how First World War poet Wilfred Owen was inspired to write some of his most famous works at the hotel. In late 1917 Owen was posted to a reserve battalion, based at The Clifton Hotel, (then known as The Clarence Gardens Hotel).
