Middlethorpe Hall & Spa
Yorks Middlethorpe Hall is a William iii country house, set in 20 acres of its own gardens and parkland. Built in 1699, it was once the home of the famous diarist, Lady Mary Wortley Montague. After a period of neglect, Middlethorpe Hall was purchased and restored by Historic House Hotels, who also own Hartwell House, Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, and Bodysgallen Hall, North Wales. The house is now decorated with antiques and fine pictures, carefully chosen as consistent with the period of the house. The gardens and parkland have also been restored and include ha has, a white garden, a walled garden, a small lake and some beautiful specimen trees. The comfortable and fully-equipped bedrooms, each individually decorated, are located both in the house and in the attractively restored 18th century courtyard next to it. There are several room types, ranging from single rooms to a deluxe suite in the main house. For conferences and retreats, Middlethorpe Halls estate provides an exclusive environment in which privacy and confidentiality are assured. Discerning business travellers will be pleased to find themselves in a setting where the executive services and facilities they require, as well as leisure activities they enjoy, are close at hand.
