Loch Ness and Fort Augustus are only 2 miles from Auchterawe Country House, where youll find shops, pubs and restaurants. The Caledonian Canal with its 5 lock staircase is a central part of Fort Augustus, where guests can watch the leisure boats and ships travel through from the canal into Loch Ness itself. We offer our guests a warm, friendly family welcome. We have double and family en suite rooms, and twin rooms with separate shower room. All of our rooms have mountain views. Guests have the use of the conservatory to admire the Great Glen mountain range beyond. Relax in front of the log fire in the guest TV lounge, where you can help yourselves to tea and coffee, or if you are feeling more energetic, have a game of pool, table tennis or chess in our games room with beamed ceiling and a wood burning stove. Mountain bike hire is available for you to explore many of the hill and mountain tracks, or, simply just walk along the riverside walks which are just outside your door.

Brief accommodation description

Auchterawe Country House is set in the countryside, within easy walking distance of riverside and mountain tracks. There are several circular walks which can be taken, some up the mountain tracks giving you panoramic views towards Fort Augustus and the Abbey, the Caledonian Canal and Loch Ness. Or you could take a walk along the River Oich and even watch the fishermen catching a wild salmon in season. Fort Augustus is the largest and one of the prettiest villages surrounding Loch Ness.
